‘Warmth Of Winter’ by Darren White
Darren White made this photograph at Chatfield Lake State Park in Colorado, and he sent it to the Snow & Ice Assignment. White describes the area, “Chatfield Lake State Park is full of all kinds of recreation in the summer. In the winter, only the ice fishermen are out there as the temps dip into the – double digits.” He got this image on a particularly cold day. White writes, “Temperature was -7 when this image was shot as the sun was trying so hard to come up though a fog bank, which created this amazing color.” He used a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and a Canon EF70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS lens.
With the dramatic weather on the East Coast this week, I’ve extended the Snow & Ice Assignment to Tuesday, February 18th.
